Charleston Wedding Photography Winner Announced
I’m so excited to announce the winners of the Charleston wedding photography package AND engagement shoot. Both of the winners are SUPER-de-DUPER involved in our local community, as well as our extended community in Africa. They both have a passion for education and work closely with children.
Meet Hannah and Caleb, who’ve been engaged since the beginning of this year!

Caleb entered them into the contest and this is what he has to say about his lady:
Hannah volunteers each week as a mentor in a title 1 school (North Charleston Elementary) through Communities in Schools, and just finished an internship for the spring semester though Charleston Promise Neighborhoods in which she helped organize community health screenings for under-resourced schools and families in the area.
Caleb is also I in residency with a church downtown to become a pastor and begin new churches. He had this to say about his work:
A large part of my job is spent mentoring students and being on campus at Burke High School, another title 1 school at risk of closing, developing relationships with the students and teachers. Our church can then understand the needs of the community and partner with those in the neighborhood to meet those needs while also developing meaningful relationships. I have also helped host a weekly dinner party in the Mixson Flats of Park Circle for the residents who recently move in to town, as an opportunity for them to meet people in their complex and better acclimate to the city after moving.
Caleb and Hannah are a powerhouse couple and I know they are going to do great things in our community and abroad. They’ll say their “I Dos” at Coleman Hall later this year, and I CAN’T WAIT to be a part of their big day.
The winner of the engagement shoot is Kimmie & Seth, who have been dating for 4 years, and have been officially engaged for 2 years! They’ve had to put their marriage on hold while Kimmie took care of her parents in the last years of their life. She is such a giving woman.
Kimmie’s friend, Tracy, nominated her (THANKS TRACY). Tracy told me about Kimmie’s work with a local nonprofit, Invest in Children Africa. Kimmie has worked there since 2002 and travels multiple times a year. She’s an accomplished musician who teaches art therapy to children who have been affected by the ongoing wars. If you’d like to help this cause, feel free to donate to Invest in Children.

AND . . . just in case you have reservations on how amazing this chic is, she shares my love for photography (see above). She teaches photography classes at Riverpointe Christian Academy as well as plays piano for her church. Kimmie & Seth . . . get ready for your close up! Haha!!
Thank you to everyone who entered the contest. There were so many touching entries. Have a great weekend, and HAPPY PLANNING!
